This website is dedicated to photomicrography with the Zeiss Axiomat and photomacrography with the Nikon Multiphot. Information and discussions relating to both are welcome.
Axiomat.org launched a new site today. Key to the move was changing to the Drupal content management system (www.drupal.org) and basing the design on a theme from TopNotchThemes (www.topnotchthemes.com).
This site is dedicated to the use, maintenance, repair, history, and collection of the Axiomat
microscope from the Carl Zeiss Group. It is my intention to provide a website for all persons
interested in the history, and use of this one-of-a-kind microscope. According to more
knowledgeable folks than I there were less than 800 of these magnificent scopes sold worldwide,
about 200 in the U.S.A. Though I have spoken with a gentleman who has over 11!
Multipurpose Microscope Illuminator, ("Pumpkin"), 250W, 18 pages, B&W. Review of different illuminator configurations, good information on various lamps, i.e. Halogen, Mercury, Xenon.
Zeiss instruction and information brochure on 60W illuminator. 6 pages, some color. This illuminator is used in Axiomat inverted transmitted configuration.
Photomacrography with Luminar Lenses. (Magnifications obtainable with a bellows-type camera.) 4 pages, some color. Table covers all five Luminar lenses, Aperture Factors, Magnification, Object-to-image Distance, and Mechanical Camera Length (in cm).
This is a 56 page sales and parts catalog is a storehouse of possible Axiomat configurations and accessories. In black & white, lots of illustrations of parts, objective specifications, etc. Most informative Zeiss document on the Axiomat I have found to date.
Photography With Luminar Lenses, 4 pages, color. Use of Luminar lenses with bellows and 35mm SLR camera bodies. Some color images, table of bellow settings.
